BALLYLove - Iconic Editions #1 by Philippe Decrauzat
Swiss artist Philippe Decrauzat (*1974) is the first artist to collaborate with swiss fashion house Bally for BallyLove and turns the Bally products into optical sensations.
Decrauzat’s art is rooted in the realms of abstract art of the 20th century. His wall paintings, sculptures and installations rework the formal concepts of Minimalism and Constructivism and he is also fond of the visuel effects of Op Art. Nevertheless the starting point is often inspired by mundane patterns thus creating a critical distance to the sincere world of art history.
The BallyLove products are based on black and white repetitive patterns inspired by Bally products from past collections, which the artist witnessed during a visit to the Bally archive in Schönenwerd, Switzerland. The range of products includes women’s pumps and booties, one men’s shoe model, a handbag and a shopper, T-shits and scarfs.
